There were lovely reflections going on in this painting. Notice the glow from the silver being reflected onto the plum. Two plums just sitting pretty in a silver dish! It is always interesting to see what affect illumination will have on objects.
Apricots have such nice skin and color. The skin is soft and smooth and their color a mixture of yellow, pink, and sometimes a touch of coral. I like them sitting next to the intense cobalt blue glass. A touch of eucalyptus tops them off!
I can hardly pass up a red pepper in the grocery produce department. Their funky shapes and radiant red color just seem to grab ya'! They are fun to paint too!
Peaches here in Tennessee were especially good this year! They were juicy and sweet and don't you just love their fuzzy, colorful skins. This one seemed just perfectly shaped and perfectly colored!
These three red pears were the most vivid reds and orange. I also discovered that the many different red tones, oranges and yellow gave me a real challenge. This, of course, is one reason why I love to paint. You never know exactly how you will approach a subject, but bringing the subject to life is thrilling!
There's just something about limes. Perhaps it is their intense green color on the outside, their funky shape, and their cool, juicy, limey green pulp inside. What would some of our most tasty food be without lime juice? Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!
