I enjoyed painting these yellow pears. Yellow pears...red pears...bosc pears, they all have an endless variety of shape and color and this makes them particularly interesting to the painter. They also remind me of the times my mother made pear preserves in the fall. There is nothing better than pear preserves on a hot buttered biscuit!

These three red pears were the most vivid reds and orange. I also discovered that the many different red tones, oranges and yellow gave me a real challenge. This, of course, is one reason why I love to paint. You never know exactly how you will approach a subject, but bringing the subject to life is thrilling!
