I can hardly pass up a red pepper in the grocery produce department. Their funky shapes and radiant red color just seem to grab ya'! They are fun to paint too!

I am drawn to the beauty of pears. I like their color, shape, and the way they sit...or recline as the case may be. This was a brilliant red pear with highlights of orange and yellow.

Another one of my hot weather favorite flowers is Lantana. They are some of the most tolerant of the hot, dry climate that we often have through the months of July and August in the South. They come in many colors both solid and mixed. I like the red and orange best for their striking show in our flower beds.

Once a bag of these fruity, candy morsels are open, I can't stop eating them. This time, however, I did stop and notice the vibrant, shining colors, reflection of light and here before me was the possibility of a painting.
Instant gratification was denied and this is the result.
