A MORE THAN BUSY FALL!

A More Than Busy Fall!

I can't believe it is taken me so long to get back to my blog!   But…whew!  I am breathing a little better after a more than busy fall filled with a lot of work and a little bit of travel.  In November, I had three shows to hang all in one week and several commissions to finish.  So there was oodles of painting going on in September and October to get ready for these shows.

I am excited to share with you some of my favorite, recent paintings.  Had such fun painting them all!

This painting was done "plein air" on a beautiful ranch in Franklin, Tennessee. I love these old barns and I love to paint them. The have such character. So many of them are falling down and someday, I suppose ones like this one in the painting will be extinct.

Lil' Stream on the Ranch

Under the shade of a big tree on a hot and steamy day in the rolling hills of a Franklin, Tennessee ranch, I discovered this little stream. I found that looking at the cool waters, feeling a gentle, occasional breeze and finding shelter under a big tree made this "plein air" painting enjoyable. I must admit that there were times that I wanted to join the cows as they waded in this stream. It was a beautiful setting and a great painting day!
