An other bunch of multi-colored pansies. I have enjoyed this year's glorious blooms. Soon it will be time to say goodbye to these cool weather beauties.
There are two flower beds on my front lawn filled with the most beautiful pansies. The blossoms are as big as large sand dollars! Quite a crop of playful pansies showing their colors of red, purple, yellow, white, blue and orange. Some of the purple pansies look like they have put on a coat of velvet. Can you tell that I love these flowers?
A dear friend commissioned this painting of a lovely facade in Puerto Rico for her son and daughter-in-law. They are currently living in Puerto Rico and this is one of their favorite sites. Once they return to the states, they will have a memory of their time there with this painting.
A striking Gerber Daisy was part of an arrangement that I made for a dinner party. It stood out after all the other flowers in the arrangement faded. It seemed to say, "paint me!"
Another one of my hot weather favorite flowers is Lantana. They are some of the most tolerant of the hot, dry climate that we often have through the months of July and August in the South. They come in many colors both solid and mixed. I like the red and orange best for their striking show in our flower beds.
On my recent visit to the island of Sicily, I enjoyed the beautiful flowers that grew everywhere. On the hillsides, along the narrow streets, stairways, etc. A sight to behold for sure!
