"Tennessee Ocoee River Bed"

The Ocoee River in Tennessee was the site for the 1996 summer Olympic Games. White water rafting here is some of the best in the country. This river bed on the Ocoee is a quite spot away from the raging white water that I found on my way back from a trip to Highlands, NC. It is a picturesque drive along the river with many places to stop and enjoy the beauty.
I put off painting this for quite awhile now because I find greens really challenging. Here in Tennessee, that is what we have... green, green and more green. I thought it was time that I tackled it!

  1. This is lovely, Judy. It is soft and serene. The sunlit-dappled plants, and the reflections in the water are wonderful!

  2. Love the color harmony- these are gorgeous colors that are difficult to get just soft enough and yet still read. Wonderful composition- love the shadows!

  3. Thats a beautiful painting. Your greens are lovely, with the cooler ones in the background, warmer up front, and lighter on one plant than the other, very nicely done! The whole composition says peace and calm.
