"Tempter Beside the Teapot"

8" x 10"
Oil on Canvas Panel

I must admit that I have an insatiable sweet tooth, however, I did not eat this delectable snack cake. By the time I finished this painting, the cake was a little dry. Its package mate was eaten by the other person in the family with a sweet tooth...my husband. I especially enjoyed developing the texture and color of the cake and the shape of the teapot. The teapot was definitely a challenge! To purchase click here.

Granny Green Apple & Strawberries

6" x 6"
oil on archival Gessobord

Glorious fruit! Is there anything more fun to paint than fruit? For the artist, fruit gives us a vast array of complementary colors, shapes, heights, etc., to arrange in various compositions. In this still life, oil painting, the lively color of the green Granny Smith apple next to luscious red strawberries make a striking combination. Sometimes it is hard for me to decide on a background color. I think the cool background softens the vivid colored fruit a bit.
