"Red Teapot" SOLD

"Red Teapot" by J Joy Nocifora ©2011    SOLD
8 x 10 oil on linen canvas panel (unframed)
$125.00 + shipping

I just had to buy this red teapot. I was so attracted to its shape and color! Now... I confess, "red" is a tough color to work with ...especially a form that is all red. I found that a variety of reds were necessary to bend the form and stick to the value plan. Overall I was pleased with the results. I added to the composition accents of the teacup, saucer and spoon. Voila'... tea time!

I am very fond of blue and white china. This little antique tea cup and saucer is part of a set given to me by my mother and I really enjoyed painting it. The blue and white take on interesting colors in the shadow, light and reflected light.
